Wild food foraging

South Devon

with Trudy Turrell

Come foraging the coast, woods and contryside and together we'll create a shared wild feast.

About

welcome

Hi, I'm Trudy and I have been leading forages for over a decade. Having had a career in countyside conservation in South Devon, I have an in depth knowledge of it's wild places, which I would love to share with you. In our corner of Devon's lush climate, you can fill your basket all the year round with nature's harvest of superfoods.

Come foraging and you'll not only learn what to pick but how to prepare, cook and preserve what we find. Often I work with my daughter, so that we can cook and prepare lots of different wild foods each time.  All our forages are fun, hands on experices where we cook up and share a wild meal together. All our meals are plant based, but please say if you have any allergies.

We offer a wide variety of foraging events from Spring wild garlic feasts, to Summer family seashore forages, preserving Autumn's bountiful berries or creating a Chistmas hamper. We offer events at three local venues or can create bespoke forages to suit you. Forages make a unique birthday celebation, group experience day, or family activty and make a wonderful gift.

I also work with local schools and hold an enhanced DBS certificate and insurance.

With up to 1,000 acres of organic farmland, coast path and its own private wild beaches, Carswell Farm is the perfect place to forage. What's more, Carswell has a wonderful kitchen and hall where we can all sit round the table to enjoy the wild feasts we create.  We lead forages throughout the year here- including seaweed forages. Why not make a weekend of it and stay in one of Carswell's characterful houses?
