FAQ's

Can I bring children?

Children are welcome to all events unless stated otherwise. Older children often really enjoy the events and love taking part in everything. Younger kids will need to be able to walk up to a mile, or be carried. All children are their parents/guardians' responsibility and must be supervised at all times.

What do I need to bring?

All equipment for foraging and cooking will be provided, so you only need to bring yourself (and a basket if you have one).

What do I need to wear?

Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear as we will spend a lot of time outside often on rough or muddy ground. Bring a waterproof in autumn/winter and suncream/sun hat and water bottle in summer. For seashore forages be prepared to go barefoot and roll up your trousers to wade in shallow water.

Can I bring my dog?

We love dogs! You may meet Betsy our foraging cockerpoo, but some of the venues we forage at (Deer Wood Trust and Carswell Farm) don't allow dogs, as they are a working farm and a conservation project. So please check when booking. We are very happy to have dogs on any of our bespoke forages.

Can you accommodate food prefences/allergies?

All our events are plant-based (except for some occasional optional dairy products). If you have any other dietary requirements please inform me before the event so I can provide for you. However, there is no guarantee regarding cross-contamination as we will be cooking together in small kitchens or outdoors.

How easy is the walk?

When foraging, we walk at a gentle pace to find and pick wild plants. Most walks are around a mile or less but some routes have stretches of steep hills, rough ground or involve steps and narrow paths. If you have any questions about accessibility of an event, please contact me. Bespoke forages can be tailored to participants' access needs.
